Arsenal Confirm Saliba Avoids Surgery, Begins Extended Rehab

Arsenal have confirmed that William Saliba will not need surgery for his back injury but will face an extended recovery period. He returned to the club after France’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain and has begun a managed rehabilitation programme following specialist assessments in London. Ben White is back in pre-season training after his knee injury in May. Jurrien Timber remains sidelined with a groin issue from the World Cup, while Cristhian Mosquera and Riccardo Calafiori are available to cover at centre-back. Piero Hincapié is expected to rejoin training next week after Ecuador’s elimination, and Gabriel Magalhães should link up with the squad soon.

It's reassuring he avoids surgery, but a long rehab still risks setbacks and might disrupt Arsenal's defensive cohesion over several months.

I'm not convinced Arsenal's medical team has perfected injury prevention just because Saliba dodged surgery this time around.

Arsenal should focus on gradual load management and personalised conditioning sessions to support Saliba's back recovery effectively.
