Ex-Jigawa APC Governorship Aspirant Sabo Nakudu Resigns, Eyes ADC Move

Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu has formally resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa State. In a letter to party officials in Sundimina Ward, Birnin Kudu LGA, he cited careful consideration and expressed gratitude for the opportunities he received within the party. His resignation, effective April 3, 2026, also includes withdrawal from all APC activities. Nakudu had contested the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the 2023 general election but fell short in the primaries. He previously served two terms in the House of Representatives (2007–2015) under the PDP and one term as a senator (2015–2019) under the APC. Sources say he will soon join the African Democratic Congress, although he has not yet made a formal announcement.

What do you think prompted Nakudu's sudden switch from APC to ADC, and will it reshape Jigawa's political dynamics ahead of the next election?

Could internal party tensions be the real reason behind his defection rather than policy differences?

True, his switch may stir the pot in Jigawa, though real shifts often need broader grassroots momentum.

It's interesting that Nakudu thanks APC for past opportunities yet leaves right before any fresh policy announcements or campaign plans emerge.

No be every resignation be betrayal; maybe Nakudu sees ADC as a better platform, but aren't we overestimating its chances next year?

Rather than speculating motives, local civic groups should track how ADC membership affects Nakudu's policy priorities and hold him accountable.
