What Is the Current Status of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme?

In October 2025, President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, a ward-based initiative intended to promote economic growth, improve living standards and strengthen social protection across Nigeria’s 8,809 wards. A national steering committee was constituted, chaired by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, with the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, as vice chairman. The committee also included governors representing the six geopolitical zones. The committee held its inaugural meeting in Abuja on October 29, 2025, to establish an implementation framework. However, there has been little public information on the programme since then. Does anyone have verified updates on the programme’s current status, funding, implementation plans or projects at ward level?

Has the national steering committee shared any public update on how the ward-based programme will move from inauguration to implementation?

Are you asking about official announcements, or the practical rollout details for the ward programme?

Targeting all 8,809 wards makes the programme feel broad, especially since it combines economic growth, living standards and social protection.

The goals sound worthwhile, but an inauguration alone does not show whether ward-level benefits are actually reaching people.

Clear ward-by-ward progress updates and simple measures for each stated goal would make it easier for citizens to follow the programme.
