Zone 2 Police Reject N500m Bribe, Seize N7.8bn Drugs in Lagos Raid
Operatives of the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force arrested 41-year-old Eke Henry Ifeanyi in a raid in Maryland, Lagos. They uncovered 425 bags of what is believed to be Canadian Loud cannabis, valued at about N7.8 billion. Officers declined a N500 million bribe before detaining the suspect. They also seized vehicles fitted with forged presidency and NYCN number plates, which were allegedly used to transport the drugs undetected. The operation followed months of surveillance and a tip-off from a concerned citizen. The suspect’s apartment and warehouse at Arowojobe Estate were searched during the raid.
