When the Scroll Kills Your Spirit: A Social Media Devotional
Devotional Reflection for July 10, 2026 “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” — 2 Corinthians 3:6 NIV Are you waking up to an endless scroll of news alerts, viral videos, and comment feeds? Digital noise can quietly snuff out your spiritual passion. When our minds are saturated with secular content, we grow impatient and lose hunger for deep prayer and true fellowship with God. It’s time for a spiritual audit. Step back and protect your heart: • Practice holy abstinence: Schedule breaks from social media. • Recalibrate daily: Feed your mind with Scripture instead of status updates. • Guard your gates: Only consume what builds up your faith. “Do not quench the Spirit. Test everything; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 Prayer Father, teach me to manage my online life wisely. Guard my eyes and heart so I won’t quench Your Spirit. Ignite my passion for You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
