Maj-Gen Rabe’s Children Reject Govt’s Claim, Insist Father Died from Snakebite Not Diabetes
One of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar’s sons says their father had no history of diabetes or high blood pressure. The Katsina State Government had attributed his death to complications from diabetes and hypertension. The retired general and his wife were abducted on May 30, 2026, along the Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli road. He later died in kidnappers’ custody. Family members maintain he was bitten by a snake while held captive, pointing to footage released by the abductors. In a recent interview, the son said only God knows the true cause of death. He described his father as a deeply religious, peace-loving man and called him a hero. He also revealed that the general’s wife remains in captivity, despite social media reports of her release.
