Shettima Urges Prayer and Unity Against Insecurity at Abibatu Mogaji Memorial
Vice President Kashim Shettima spoke at a memorial prayer session for Chief Abibatu Mogaji at the National Mosque in Abuja. He called on Nigerians to overcome security and economic challenges through prayer, unity, and collective resolve. Shettima defended the administration’s efforts to strengthen security, boost economic growth, and improve citizens’ welfare. He praised the late matriarch’s life of sacrifice and urged everyone to follow her example of compassion and service. Special Adviser Ibrahim Kabir Masari announced legacy projects funded from his personal resources, including over 250 hand-pump boreholes across nine northern states, an Islamic centre in Abuja, and a new Juma’at mosque with residential quarters in Rigasa, Kaduna. The event drew governors, ministers, traditional rulers, and Islamic scholars. Among those present were Borno’s Babagana Zulum, Yobe’s Mai Mala Buni, Jigawa’s Umar Namadi, former governors Usman Dakingari and Tanko Al-Makura, and other senior officials.
