Use Drones and Modern Tech to End South-West Insecurity, Monarch Urges FG
Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude warned that the recent surge in kidnapping and insecurity across the South-West was long anticipated. He urged federal and state governments to embrace technology-driven solutions and strengthen coordination among security agencies. The monarch recommended deploying drones and advanced surveillance systems to monitor forests, border communities, and rural hideouts. He called for increased resources and operational support for the Amotekun Corps, citing its deep local knowledge and community reach. Oba Oyelude also appealed to residents to report suspicious activities and refrain from politicising security matters. He advocated for constitutional reforms to formally recognise traditional rulers in the national security framework.
