Life Under Tinubu’s APC: Power Cuts, Soaring Prices, and Daily Struggles
I’m baffled by our daily realities under this administration. We now get only 30 minutes to an hour of electricity in 24 hours, even in Lagos’ Band C. Fuel costs have climbed to ₦1,350 per litre. Running a generator from midnight to 4am now requires at least three litres of petrol, just so we can sleep through the night. Food prices keep rising. Protein choices have been pared down to cheap options like panla—four pieces for ₦1,000—to stretch budgets. Transport fares have tripled, with keke tippers hiking charges from ₦100 to ₦300. Rents for a self-contained flat on the mainland now start at ₦1.5 million per year, while average salaries hover around ₦150k–₦200k. Roads are in disrepair and loan apps trap people in debt. Is this normal life in Nigeria today?
