Onitsha Police Commander Calls for Joint Crime-Fighting Effort
The Area Commander of Onitsha, ACP Fesugba Temitope, has urged stronger collaboration with sister security agencies and the public to combat crime in Onitsha and its surrounds. He made the call during a visit to the Bridge Head Police Division. He asked the NSCDC, ATMA, Anti-Tout unit, the military, the OCHA Brigade and other agencies to unite against criminal activities in Anambra. Temitope also appealed to residents to share timely information with the police, noting that officers cannot secure lives and property alone. He commended CSP Uche Noah Onyinnaya and his team for keeping the peace despite limited resources. The DPO highlighted operational challenges such as insufficient patrol vehicles, communication gadgets and office space. He said low crime rates reflect effective teamwork, intelligence surveillance and strong stakeholder support. Temitope praised the Anambra CP’s policing strategies and called for continued cooperation.
