Mourinho Explains Why He Became Fed Up and Left Real Madrid in 2013

José Mourinho has reflected on the dressing-room tensions that contributed to his departure from Real Madrid in 2013, after three seasons in charge of the Spanish giants. The Portuguese manager joined Madrid in 2010 after winning the treble with Inter Milan. He led the club to the 2011/12 La Liga title, ending Barcelona's three-year run as champions, but did not win the UEFA Champions League. Mourinho recalled disagreements over training schedules, players' requests and team discipline during his first spell. He said both he and the squad had become tired of the relationship, while constant media scrutiny also made him feel it was time to leave.
