Ex-Sokoto Deputy Governor: Tinubu ‘Hardly Sleeps’ Over Nigeria’s Insecurity

Ex-Sokoto Deputy Governor: Tinubu ‘Hardly Sleeps’ Over Nigeria’s Insecurity

Mukhtar Shagari, former deputy governor of Sokoto State, says President Bola Tinubu “hardly sleeps” because of the worsening insecurity in Nigeria. He made the remark during a recent appearance on a national morning show. Shagari pointed out that each state now allocates resources through a security vote. He urged governors to channel these funds toward setting up state police. He stressed that protecting lives and property should not fall on the Federal Government alone, calling on states to support federal security agencies so Nigerians can travel freely and rest without fear.
