Imumolen Says Court Orders Support His Claim to Accord Chairmanship
Prof. Chris Imumolen says his claim to the Accord national chairmanship is supported by court orders and the party’s internal structures, not a self-declaration. He said an FCT High Court interim order issued in August 2024 directed INEC to recognise him as national chairman pending the determination of the substantive suit. The order also restrained opposing officials from acting as the party’s National Executive Committee and conducting congresses. The leadership dispute, which followed Accord’s July 2024 national convention, remains before the courts. Imumolen urged party members and stakeholders to rely on certified court judgments and enrolled orders rather than claims issued by either faction.
