Three Man United Stars, Including Two World Cup-Bound Players, Hit with Speeding Fines

Three Man United Stars, Including Two World Cup-Bound Players, Hit with Speeding Fines — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Three Manchester United first-team players now face legal action after separate speeding incidents in Greater Manchester. Turkey’s goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and England defender Harry Maguire have already been fined and handed penalty points, while Brazil forward Matheus Cunha awaits a court plea in a more serious case. Bayindir was caught driving at 41mph in a 30mph zone and received a fine plus points. Maguire admitted speeding at 37mph in a 30mph zone, was fined £1,000, got three penalty points and paid court costs with a victim surcharge. Cunha is charged with speeding and failing to identify the driver of a Mercedes on the same stretch. He has yet to enter a plea and could face a driving ban depending on the outcome. All cases were dealt with via the single justice procedure for lower-level motoring offences. Neither the club nor the players have publicly commented on these proceedings.

It's surprising that top pros with full support teams still risk speeding fines instead of relying on drivers or transport management.
