Peller Ejected from Alake of Egbaland’s Palace in Viral Palace Row

Peller Ejected from Alake of Egbaland’s Palace in Viral Palace Row

Popular Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, was met with an unexpected reception at the Alake of Egbaland’s palace in Abeokuta. His visit was part of a nationwide streaming tour aimed at engaging fans and exploring cultural landmarks. Upon arrival, a palace chief reprimanded Peller, his entourage, and associate Tunde Perry for what was deemed an inappropriate approach in the royal setting. Other chiefs then intervened and halted the visit, informing the group that the monarch would no longer grant them an audience and ordering them to leave immediately. Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Peller and his crew exited the premises promptly. This incident follows a similar controversy in Benin, where the Traditional Council reportedly declared him wanted for entering a palace without prior approval, a claim his management has since denied.

What do you think made Peller's visit to the Alake's palace turn south so quickly?

So there was sudden drama—any clue which palace protocol he might have overlooked?

I don't think it collapsed over one issue; often protocol slip-ups or miscommunication pile up quietly.

It's odd that a streamer on a cultural tour would be asked to leave before any official welcome took place.

I no think say streaming fame should excuse someone from following palace protocols or respect for traditions.

Streamers visiting cultural sites should brief local authorities and palace officials ahead to avoid misunderstandings on both sides.
