Nigerians Among Foreign Nationals Arrested in Delhi’s 48-Hour Drug Crackdown
Delhi Police concluded the 13th edition of Operation Kavach, a 48-hour sweep from March 29 to 31. Over 1,000 specialised officers from 15 districts raided 3,211 locations citywide. Commissioner Satish Golchha monitored the operation. Teams arrested 1,483 suspects, including 267 wanted under the NDPS Act. Authorities seized 100 kg of ganja, over a kilogram of cocaine, plus heroin, MDMA and amphetamines. Foreign nationals were among those detained. In Mehrauli, officers arrested John Chibuike, a Nigerian, with more than a kilogram of cocaine. In Uttam Nagar, Cosmas Nwokeocha was held with commercial quantities of amphetamine. The local task force also dismantled a heroin supply chain. Two suspects, known as Muskan and Gungun, were arrested and over 400 grams of heroin recovered.
