I Stopped Backing Obi After Wearing Tinubu’s Cap at Vanguard Awards, Says Ex-Supporter

James Kitiya says he abandoned his support for Peter Obi after being seen wearing a President Tinubu cap at the Vanguard Personality of the Year Award. He was photographed greeting Obi alongside other youths despite his pro-Tinubu attire. The clip went viral and sparked debate over loyalty and tolerance. Kitiya recalls that Obi recognised him immediately. In a private chat at Eko Hotel, he warned Obi that some Lagos supporters had been bought. He says he told Obi he would return if the Labour Party left the Atiku camp. Confused by Obi’s direction, he later joined the APC in Adamawa State.

I get the curiosity, but wearing that cap might've been just formality, not real switch of support.

I'm not convinced his change of heart was only about the cap; maybe the award event itself influenced his stance more.
