Lawyer Defends Tinubu’s Push for Petty Trading, Tells Critics to “Come Down From Your High Horse”
A lawyer has stepped in to defend Nigeria’s First Lady after she encouraged citizens to explore small-scale businesses like kuli-kuli, akara and roasted corn trading. He argued that many people overlook the profit potential of petty trading, especially when supported by grants or small business loans. According to him, “People underestimate the profits from petty trading with little capital supported by way of grants or loans.” He challenged critics to set aside their pride, face reality and recognise the value that small businesses can bring to the economy.
