Nine Steps to End Nigeria’s Insecurity in 24 Hours—Without a Shot Fired

This post argues that Nigeria’s insecurity is not a capacity problem but a crisis of political will. It shows how decisive action can stop terror funding, illegal mining and ransom deals overnight. HOUR 1–6: Cut off the money and communication. Freeze every suspected terror financier’s bank account, suspend illegal mining licences in trouble zones, and switch off network coverage in known forest camps. HOUR 7–12: Remove elite protection. Recall private security details from politicians and traditional rulers, publish the names of “repentant” terrorists in custody, and make every governor spend a night in the worst-hit local government area. HOUR 13–24: Empower communities. Roll out state and community policing by presidential proclamation, pay all outstanding security allowances, and hold local leaders accountable for kidnappings in their domains. The clock is ticking: if peace becomes more profitable than chaos, insecurity will end by dawn.
