Embracing the Life-Giving Word of God

Good morning, dear friends. Today we reflect on Jesus’ words in John 6:63: “The Spirit gives life. Human effort accomplishes nothing.” These words are spirit and life. From the very beginning, God spoke creation into being (Genesis 1). His word is powerful and life-giving. In John 6, Jesus claimed oneness with the Father and showed how the Holy Spirit brings spiritual life through His message. Eternal life is a gift of grace received by faith, not by human effort (Ephesians 2:8). The gospel carries the power to save and transform lives. It changed the disciples and it still saves today. If you haven’t yet embraced this gift, you can pray: “Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins. Forgive me and write my name in the book of life. I commit to follow You always.” Welcome this life-giving word and join a Bible-believing community to grow in Christ. God bless you.

Reflecting on Genesis and John 6:63 reminds me how a single word from God can transform fear into hope in our lives.

I see the point about divine word, but actors in scripture also acted deliberately. We must not downplay human responsibility for growth.

Maybe we can start each morning by pausing for a moment of silent reflection, inviting the Spirit's life into our plans.
