Why Worshiping Memory and Struggle Misses the Point of True Intelligence

We aren’t here just to cram facts into our heads. Memory fades as we age, yet schools still force us to memorise details we rarely use. I wonder why we value cramming over true understanding. We praise suffering and manual effort. Yet we happily lean on autocorrect, Google searches, and shopping lists. These tools show that real intelligence is about using logic and creativity to solve problems, not rote recall. I believe we must unlearn the false idea that proving our brain’s strength requires unnecessary hardship. Delegating repetitive tasks to technology or others frees our minds for empathy and innovation. True intelligence combines reasoning with creativity. Let your brain focus on what matters most and rely on tools for everything else.
