Igwebuike Anam Leader Urges Governments to Empower Age Grade for Grassroots Growth
Chief Engr. Samuel Udefi, President General of Igwebuike Anam Age Grade Worldwide, has called on state and local governments in the South-East to strengthen the age grade system as a driver of sustainable community development. Speaking at his 50th birthday celebration in Asaba, he thanked his age mates for their unity and development focus across eight Anam communities. He described Igwebuike as the first age grade with a shared identity across Anam, built on peace and cooperation. Udefi highlighted the group’s achievements, including solar lighting projects, rural electrification, medical outreaches and empowerment of indigent members. He urged authorities to partner formally with age grades and town unions to speed up local development and foster shared responsibility.
