Delta Federal Constituency Aspirant Omelora Joins NDC Amid ADC Turmoil
Dr. Chuks Okonji, known as Omelora, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress over ongoing internal disputes. In a letter to his Ward 6 chairman in Ibusa, he cited persistent litigations and party disharmony as reasons for leaving. His exit coincides with former presidential candidate Peter Obi’s move to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, prompting fresh realignments. Omelora, who contested the Oshimili North State Assembly seat in 2023, has now pledged his loyalty to the NDC. Observers expect his defection to influence further shifts in Delta politics and bolster the NDC’s grassroots strength.
