Nigerian Legends Sade Adu and Fela Kuti to Join Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Nigerian Legends Sade Adu and Fela Kuti to Join Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 inductees and Nigerian icons Sade Adu and the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti are among them. This recognition celebrates their global impact and lasting legacy. Induction into the Hall of Fame honors artists who have shaped popular music. Eligible candidates must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years earlier and demonstrate excellence, innovation, and influence. After a second nomination, Sade enters the Performer category for her timeless “Quiet Storm” sound. Fela receives the Early Influence Award in recognition of his pioneering role in Afrobeat and the inspiration he provided to generations of musicians. The ceremony takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year’s class also features Oasis, Mariah Carey, Wu-Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, and others. The event will be televised on ABC and available on Disney+ in December.
