FCTA Deploys Advanced Vein-Finding Devices to 14 Abuja Hospitals
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has equipped 14 hospitals under the Hospitals Management Board with 48 high-tech vein finders and accessories. According to Dr. Dolapo Fasawe of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat, these devices will boost accuracy in IV access, reduce multiple needle attempts, and make procedures quicker and less painful for children, elderly and patients with difficult veins. Healthcare staff from beneficiary facilities took part in hands-on training sessions on device handling, operation and maintenance to ensure effective use and long-term sustainability. This initiative highlights the FCT Administration’s commitment, under Minister Nyesom Wike, to modernising healthcare delivery and improving patient experience.
