I am disappointed by the racist abuse reportedly directed at Esther Okoronkwo after the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Racism against Nigerian and other Black African players should never be excused or met with silence. Fans should call it out, report abusive accounts and stand firmly with affected players. Supporting African football should not mean ignoring discrimination. Respect must be non-negotiable on and off the pitch.
