Nigerians Call Out AidaCredit for Spamming Unwanted Loan Offers
Many Nigerians have begun reporting unsolicited text messages from AidaCredit, a loan app run by Ishiagu Microfinance Bank. Recipients receive promises of ready cash and a link that redirects to a web page not listed on the App Store. A Lagos resident told FIJ he never signed up for the service and only uses an iPhone, yet he’s been receiving messages since April. When he followed the link, it became clear AidaCredit isn’t available for download and may be harvesting personal data. This complaint adds to growing frustration with digital lenders like EaseMoni and OKash, which have also been accused of bombarding Nigerians with calls and texts despite no prior registration.
