Former NFL Player and Super Bowl Winner Jordan Devey Dies at 38
Former NFL offensive guard Jordan Devey has died at the age of 38. His wife announced his death on what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary, while a family fundraising page said he died by suicide. Devey was part of the New England Patriots squad that won Super Bowl XLIX during the 2014 season, although he did not play in the final. Across seven NFL seasons, he made 44 regular-season appearances for the Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. He was remembered as a devoted father of four, youth sports coach and mentor to student-athletes. His parents have called for greater mental-health awareness and said they believe he may have been affected by CTE, a brain disease linked to repeated head impacts.
