JTF Rejects Collusion Claims in Jos North Attack, Pledges Swift Justice
The Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace has issued a strong rebuttal to claims that its soldiers aided gunmen during the Palm Sunday raid on Angwan Rukuba in Jos North. In a statement, the JTF’s Media Information Officer, Captain Chinonso Oteh, labeled the allegations by a local youth leader as “malicious fabrication.” He said troops responded immediately, dispatching four gun trucks to pursue the attackers once the distress call reached headquarters. An internal review, Oteh added, confirmed there was no collusion. He affirmed that survivors and eyewitnesses backed the military’s account of a rapid emergency intervention. The task force also announced new joint strategies with other agencies to track down the perpetrators and maintain security in the state.
