Outcry as Anambra Businessman Blord Detained for Rejecting City Boy Movement

Tony Okafor reports that Awka entrepreneur Linus Williams, known as Blord, has spent 26 days in Kuje Correctional Centre. He was held after refusing to join the pro-Tinubu City Boy Movement. Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore condemned the detention as political oppression. He visited Blord on Wednesday and found him in good spirits despite the ordeal. Sowore urged Barrister Marshal Abubakar to withdraw the case and pledged to secure Blord’s immediate release. According to Sowore, Blord’s only “offense” was publicly opposing the City Boy Movement. He insists the charges are politically motivated and believes justice will prevail soon.
