Mother and Two Children Flee Boko Haram Enclave, Surrender to Troops in Borno
Fadimatu Ibrahim, 30, and her children Abubakar, 12, and Ummi, 2, surrendered to soldiers of the 192 Battalion under Operation HADIN KAI on May 24 along the Gwoza–Limankara road. Security sources say they escaped the Kimbe Boko Haram enclave in the Mandara Mountains after enduring sustained military pressure and severe shortages of food and basic necessities. The trio were screened, documented and placed under battalion custody for further processing according to established procedures.
