Kaduna to Get N1.178tn Light Rail and Road Revamp as Tinubu Approves Landmark Projects
Kaduna State has received federal approval for transformative rail and road contracts totalling N1.178 trillion. Governor Uba Sani praised President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council for green-lighting the 50-kilometre Kaduna Light Rail Project and the 122-kilometre reconstruction of the Mando–Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road. The light rail will run on a 30-kilometre corridor from Rigachikun to Sabon Tasha and a 20-kilometre line from Millennium City to Rigasa, complementing the ongoing 24-kilometre Bus Rapid Transit system. These projects aim to boost connectivity, security, agricultural productivity and urban mobility, laying the foundation for a more prosperous and connected Kaduna.
