NDLEA Seizes Massive Opioid Haul in Taraba, Arrests Multiple Suspects

The NDLEA intercepted a truck carrying building materials from Onitsha to Jalingo and uncovered a hidden stash of opioids. Officers recovered 320,840 tramadol capsules, 600 pentazocine ampoules, 4,500 Rohypnol tablets and 299 bottles of codeine cough syrup. A 22-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. In Ebonyi State, agents arrested a 75-year-old man in possession of 300 grams of skunk packaged for retail sale. In Imo State, a raid on a known drug enclave in Umulolo, Orlu led to the arrest of a 32-year-old female dealer and the recovery of 8.8 kilograms of skunk. These operations form part of the agency’s nationwide offensive against drug cartels, according to a statement from the NDLEA Media and Advocacy Directorate.
