I met a campus youth leader during my undergraduate years. He guided our Bible studies and I trusted him like family. Over time we grew close and I even invited him to preach at my wedding. Before my wedding ride home, he joked that I married a younger, less educated wife just to control her—and implied a curse on our union. I felt betrayed and unsafe. After that, I kept my distance even though he reached out through my wife. Now my wife and I treat him as an acquaintance. I worry for my family’s security and trust is gone.
