Don’t Let Love Hinder God’s Plan for Your Life
In December 2018, I attended a major evangelism event and fell ill from the long journey. By Christmas Day, I was too weak to travel by road, so a helicopter was arranged to take me home. When it arrived, a crowd pressed around it in their eagerness to see me, clinging so tightly that one window even shattered before we could take off. That incident taught me a vital lesson: people who care for you can unknowingly block God’s will. They meant well, yet their actions almost put my life at risk. The Bible shows us similar moments. In 1 Samuel 17, Eliab tried to stop David from facing Goliath out of brotherly concern. In Matthew 16, Peter rebuked Jesus when He spoke of His own death. Both loved deeply but nearly derailed God’s plans. Be alert when well-meaning advice or actions threaten to limit your calling. Pray for discernment, and have the courage to follow God’s leading above all else.
