Diaspora Doctor Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor to Receive ‘Philanthropist of the Year’ at 2026 AMTY Awards

Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor will be honoured as Philanthropist of the Year at the 5th Anambra Man of the Year Awards on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Stanel Dome, Awka. He was chosen for his outstanding humanitarian work, which includes establishing Nigeria’s first organised PICU and donating multiple container loads of critical medical equipment to major teaching hospitals. As founder of Global Health Projects Inc. and the Health Place for Children Initiative, he has improved care for critically ill children and championed sustainable medical homes across underserved communities. A pediatric intensivist based in the US and APGA candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Dr. Nwankwor also supports education through scholarships and community health insurance schemes.
