Sahel Alliance Bids to Host AFCON 2032
Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso have formally submitted a joint expression of interest to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations. CAF President Patrice Motsepe accepted their initial bid during a meeting at the closing stages of the 2026 World Cup in the United States. This marks the first phase of the bidding process, though the tournament has not yet been awarded. The three federations must now prepare a detailed hosting dossier covering stadiums, training facilities, transport links, accommodation and security. CAF will evaluate all bids on technical, financial and legal criteria before setting deadlines. If successful, Niger would host AFCON for the first time, while Burkina Faso and Mali would welcome the tournament again after 1998 and 2002 respectively.
