Warning: Rent Scam in Ibafo – Avoid Losing ₦400,000

Warning: Rent Scam in Ibafo – Avoid Losing ₦400,000 — 1 of 4
1 / 4

I paid ₦400,000 for a rental property in Ibafo through an agent named Mujaidu Olayinka Rafiu. After I transferred the money, he became unreachable and stopped responding to calls or messages. I have reported this fraud case at Ibafo Police Station, Ogun State. If you have any information that can help locate him or prevent others from falling victim, please contact your nearest police station. Please share this post with friends and family to warn them against this scam. I’ve attached his photo and proof of payment for clarity.

Has anyone else dealt with rent agents disappearing after payment in Ibafo? What warning signs did you notice before it went wrong?

How much time passed between your payment and when the agent stopped responding?

It's odd that no formal receipt or contract was issued before transferring such a large sum to Rafiu.

I'm not convinced the police report alone will speed up recovery; these stations often face delays and limited resources.

Consider verifying agent credentials with your bank for transfer limits and requesting a site visit with independent witnesses before any deposit.
