Onuche Ogbelu Seals Three-Year Deal with Libyan Side Al-Ittihad SC
Al-Ittihad SC have unveiled Nigerian midfielder Onuche Ogbelu as their latest signing. He joins the Tripoli giants on a three-year contract after leaving Tunisian champions Espérance. The 23-year-old moved from Nasarawa United to Espérance in 2023. He featured in 54 league games, scored two goals and earned praise for his displays at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup. A Fosla Academy graduate, Ogbelu is known for his composure, pressing evasion and precise distribution. He was a key figure for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in their third-place finish at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. He becomes Al-Ittihad’s fifth signing this summer, joining Thembinkosi Lorch, Adem Alilet, Stephane Aziz Ki, Ahmad Benali and Anatole Abang as the club bolsters its squad for domestic and continental challenges.
