Tinubu Vows Renewed Fight Against Terrorism, Pledges More Support for Armed Forces in Bayelsa
President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to defeating terrorism and banditry during an official visit to Bayelsa State. He pledged sustained investment in training and equipping the armed forces to confront insurgency and violent threats. Speaking at the commissioning of key infrastructure projects, Tinubu honoured fallen troops and highlighted recent successes in repelling a coordinated attack in Borno State. He linked security gains to broader development efforts, stressing that roads, power and job creation are vital to reducing the roots of insecurity. The President inaugurated the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, the Sagbama-Ekeremor Road and a 2.9-kilometre dual carriageway in Yenagoa. He also commended the independent power project as a critical step toward reliable electricity and economic growth. Tinubu urged the state to sustain momentum with more people-focused initiatives and assured continued federal support. Governor Douye Diri thanked the President for the visit and praised federal policies that enabled independent energy solutions.
