Crescent University Nursing Students Record 100% Pass Rate in Midwifery Exam

Crescent University in Abeokuta has achieved a remarkable feat as its nursing undergraduates secured a perfect pass rate in the March 2026 Registered Midwifery Professional Examination. Vice Chancellor Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila announced that this is the seventh time the university’s nursing cohort has attained full marks in the exam administered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Head of the Nursing Department Dr. Shafiu Ademola praised the students’ dedication and highlighted the rigorous academic and clinical training that underpinned their success. He also thanked parents for their support and the university management for providing essential resources. Registrar Barrister Zakariyya Ajibola congratulated Dr. Ademola on his new fellowship with the African Institute of Public Health Professionals. Other dignitaries at the presentation included the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the University Bursar, and the Chairman of the Parent Forum.

I agree; their emphasis on targeted review programs, regular practical sessions and dedicated faculty guidance seems crucial to that success.

Did they perhaps include regular practical simulations or mentorship pairs for midwifery training?

Na impressive result, but I'm curious if small cohort sizes or exam format changes played a bigger role in those perfect passes.

While midwifery shines, focusing exclusively on one specialty risks sidelining core nursing competencies across the wider program.

Implementing targeted study groups and regular mock exams could replicate this success in other departments or universities.
