Thioune Delighted as Boniface Makes Injury Comeback for Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen head coach Daniel Thioune has praised the return of Nigeria international Victor Boniface ahead of the final run-in. Boniface suffered a knee injury in December and underwent surgery earlier this year. He was initially ruled out for the season but has made steady progress in training. Thioune said they discussed Boniface’s eagerness to help the team stay in the league. He added that the forward could feature in the coming weeks against sides of similar strength. Boniface joined Bremen on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer. The 25-year-old has two assists in 11 league outings so far.
