Civic Centre Hails Military Gains in North Central, Urges Sustained Effort for Peaceful Easter

The Civic Centre for National Security and Civic Responsibility has praised the renewed operational drive of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the North Central region under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff. Recent intelligence-led offensives have disrupted criminal networks, restored order in bandit-plagued communities, and secured key transport routes. Improved troop presence and rapid response have boosted public confidence in affected areas. While welcoming these developments, the Centre cautioned that gains remain fragile. It urged the military to maintain pressure on armed groups, replicate successes in other trouble spots, and deepen coordination with local communities. With Easter approaching, the Centre called for heightened vigilance and robust deployments to guarantee a peaceful celebration nationwide. It stressed that lasting security depends on sustained military effort and active citizen cooperation.

I'm not sure praising the operation helps; real security comes from consistent community engagement, not just military reports.
