Pray with Confidence: Hearing God’s Voice Today

Pray with Confidence: Hearing God’s Voice Today

I believe the power to pray and receive clear answers from the Most High is a gift we should never trade for the fleeting things of this world. My experience shows that God still speaks and answers prayers just as He did in the days of Elijah and the Apostles. The challenge isn’t His willingness but whether we’re truly listening. First, He often reveals our sins—and that’s where many of us get offended. We resist turning away from what we love most and even ask the Creator to wait. Yet true prayer isn’t about busy works or programs. It begins with honesty and a wholehearted decision to turn from evil. When we pursue holiness, we can approach God with confidence and expect His answers. They may not always match our desires, but He knows what’s best. As the New Testament teaches, “Ask, and it will be given…knock, and it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7), and when we ask in Jesus’ name, our joy is complete (John 16:24).

It's interesting to hear prayer experiences compared to Elijah's era, but I wonder how we verify such direct answers today.

I respect the confidence, but people sometimes misinterpret inner thoughts for divine voice.

Maybe setting aside quiet time and journaling each prayer prompt could help track patterns of guidance.
