Transforming Earthly Wealth into Eternal Riches

In Luke 16:9–11, Jesus challenges us to use temporary wealth to gain friends for eternity. He contrasts the “mammon of unrighteousness” with true, eternal riches. By understanding this paradox, we see that our material choices shape our lasting legacy. The term mammon refers to what we trust in. Jesus isn’t condemning money itself but exposing its fleeting nature. He calls us to convert worldly currency into spiritual investments—acts of generosity, justice and service that endure beyond this life. Scripture examples like Zacchaeus in Luke 19 and Barnabas in Acts 4 show how radical generosity transforms both giver and community. Zacchaeus gave away half his possessions; Barnabas sold land to care for the needy. Their stories illustrate how faithfulness with little leads to greater spiritual authority. Today, we’re invited to view ourselves as stewards, not owners. Every financial decision is an eternal vote. If we hold wealth with open hands, we build communities that outlast us. Repentance and surrender unlock true riches—godly character, wisdom and intimacy with the Creator. Would you make this divine exchange today?

It's interesting that the passage frames wealth as unrighteous mammon yet encourages using it for eternal impact rather than condemning material goods outright.
