The NSCDC Kwara State Command arrested a 34-year-old man for defrauding a Point-of-Sale operator using a fake bank transfer alert while impersonating an army officer. The suspect reportedly showed a forged debit alert and collected N40,600 from the victim. He also carried a counterfeit military ID card and related paraphernalia to win trust. During questioning, he admitted involvement in similar scams. Investigators identified an alleged accomplice, now at large, and are pursuing his arrest. Recovered items include multiple ATM cards from different banks and a national identity card. The suspect will be prosecuted after investigations conclude. The NSCDC urged the public to verify electronic payments before releasing cash or goods.
