Cross River Rep Rejects Assault Claims, Focuses on Constituency Development
Mr Ovat Agbor, who represents Obubra 1 in Cross River, says claims that he assaulted his wife were exaggerated and politically motivated. He admits there was a disagreement at home but insists it never became physical. After his suspension and later recall by the State Assembly, Agbor says he stayed focused on delivering projects for his constituents. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing dividends of democracy despite the controversy. He highlighted ongoing borehole projects across Obubra urban, Mabana, Owakande II, Ogara I and Ofomanga to tackle water shortages caused by power outages. He also discussed a 15km road linking Ofunama, Isobo and Opechi, which has boosted local trade and sand mining activities. On education, Agbor is renovating a five-classroom block and has helped about 42 people secure state civil service jobs and placements in federal institutions. He is also sponsoring a bill to make passenger manifests compulsory for travel safety and urging support for rural electrification and peaceful dialogue to address insecurity.
