Ado-Ekiti Court Arraigns Two Saleswomen Over N1.2m Theft
Two women, Sule Joy (32) and Omowumi Temilade (22), appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of stealing and breach of peace. They are accused of diverting N804,210 and N408,610 respectively from cloth sales proceeds belonging to their employer. The police prosecutor, ASP Olasunkanmi Bamikole, said the offences took place between August 2025 and May 2026 at Dalimore Junction in Ado-Ekiti. He asked for more time to review the case file and promised to call witnesses at the substantive hearing. The defendants pleaded not guilty. Their lawyer appealed for bail, assuring the court they would not abscond. Chief Magistrate Bankole Oluwasanmi granted each N80,000 bail with one surety and adjourned the matter to July 13 for hearing.
