General Buratai Calls for Unity and Peaceful Politics on Democracy Day

Former Army Chief Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (retd.) congratulated President Bola Tinubu and all Nigerians on the 2026 Democracy Day. He praised the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy and commended the administration’s focus on national development and infrastructure renewal. He urged citizens, leaders and communities to embrace dialogue, tolerance and patriotism as the nation prepares for the next electoral cycle. Buratai warned against violence and divisive politics, stressing that democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect. He concluded by praying for continued blessings on Nigeria and stronger democratic institutions in the years ahead.
