Antoine Semenyo Vows Ghana Will Challenge Football Giants at 2026 World Cup

Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo insists the Black Stars will do more than just participate at the 2026 World Cup. He says this generation aims to renew the legacy after their famous 2010 quarter-final run and recent setbacks. Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Semenyo always knew his path lay with the Black Stars. He recalls the emotion of family gatherings watching past World Cups and how that shaped his choice. After debuting in 2022 and playing in Qatar, Semenyo says missing AFCON 2025 has only increased Ghana’s hunger. Under coach Carlos Queiroz, he believes their attacking talent and killer instincts can test any opponent. “Ghana aren’t just coming to compete,” he adds. “We want to prove we can stand with the best.”
